To our customers who live in the Tampa / Nature Coast area, don’t forget that they call this area the “Lightning Capital of the World” for good reason. If you are a person who likes to be extra safe and unplugs their computer during a lightning storm, don’t forget to uplug the network cable (that’s the one with what looks like a large telephone jack and is connected to your internet equipment) as well as your power cord. We get more voltage spikes coming through that network cable than the power cord, but both should be unplugged. If you use your computer wirelessly, then you only need to worry about the power cable. Have a safe summer!
